2012 PLANET Student Career Days scheduled for March

The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is gearing up for its 36th annual Student Career Days (SCD) to be held March 22–25, 2012, at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.

SCD is a three-day event for students enrolled in interior and exterior horticulture programs at two- and four-year colleges and universities from across the country. Each year, close to 900 green industry students from some 62 schools demonstrate their skills in real-world, competitive events and have the opportunity to participate in an outstanding Career Fair.

Students aren’t the only ones who get to showcase their skills at SCD. There are a number of opportunities for companies to showcase their employment and/or internship opportunities and get their name in front of an eager audience of next-generation industry professionals. Each booth at the Career Fair includes an area where companies can conduct on-site interviews. Companies can also opt to be a Lead sponsor for a competitive event, which they can design, or be an Assistant sponsor or Donor that assist the Lead sponsor. If you are interested in being a competitive event Lead sponsor, Assistant sponsor, or Donor that, visit the SCD Web site at StudentCareerDays.org, or contact Anna Walraven at (800) 395-2522.

The host hotel for the 2012 SCD will be the Holiday Inn at the Campus, Manhattan, Kansas. The opening and closing ceremonies, Career Fair, and competitive events will all be held on the Kansas State University campus.
