Enhance your irrigation skills with summer training courses

Irrigation season is upon us, and this summer, both new and experienced irrigation professionals can enhance their skills by attending training provided by Rain Bird Services.

Over the next few months, Rain Bird Services will host irrigation training courses at more than 20 locations across the country. The company has two core irrigation training programs. Rain Bird’s Factory Trained program will train professionals on Rain Bird products, while Rain Bird Academy will provide general, non-manufacturer-specific irrigation skills training.  Both programs are squarely focused on professional level irrigation training with no product or sales pitches.

“One of the hallmarks of Rain Bird Academy training is our Boot Camp,” said Tom Hornbacher, manager of Rain Bird’s Training Services. “The Boot Camp spans 4½ days, offering much of what the new irrigation contractor will need to begin offering irrigation services. In addition to attending our Boot Camp, we also strongly recommend that contractors new to irrigation work closely with a local Rain Bird distributor to get the best possible start in the irrigation business.”

Rain Bird Services is also launching five new Rain Bird Factory Trained courses aimed at both residential and light commercial irrigation contractors. These particular courses include Water Efficient Product Expert, Low Volume Technician, Drainage Technician, Decoder Installer and Residential Installer.

“These particular courses are designed to give contractors a competitive edge in the irrigation business,” said Robert Pfeil, marketing group manager for Rain Bird Services, “The content for each course includes the most up-to-date information available within the irrigation industry today.”

This summer, Rain Bird Services is making training easier and more affordable by bundling like courses together at a discounted price.  Currently, courses on contractor products, Maxicom2, Site Control and IQ central control products are available in discounted bundles.

People who attend Rain Bird training classes are also eligible to earn continuing education units (CEUs) from the Irrigation Association (IA), the United States Green Building Council’s LEED program, the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), the Landscape Architectural Continuing Educational System, Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and many state and local organizations.

Rain Bird’s Professional and Regional Irrigation Training Camps have helped irrigation and landscape professionals expand their skill sets and increase their marketability within the industry.  To register for an event, determine opportunities for continuing education units or learn more about Rain Bird Training Services’ training camps available throughout the United States and internationally, visit www.rainbirdservices.com/training or call 1-800-498-1942.
