Exmark employees donate over $10,000 to local charities this holidayseason

Employees of Exmark Manufacturing gave back to members of its community this holiday season through a series of donations to local charities. This announcement comes on the heels of Exmark and the Toro Giving Program’s donation last month to a local Habitat for Humanity project in Gage County.

Exmark employees raised nearly $10,000 for its local United Way branch. The donation was then matched by the Toro Giving Program for a total contribution of over $17,000 – exceeding last year’s total donation.  Employees raised the donations through company raffles and other activities, consignment auctions, and cash donations.

“We’re proud that the Exmark family includes such thoughtful and giving people,” said Rick Olson, general manager of Exmark Manufacturing. “With the current state of the economy, every little bit helps as there are a lot of people that need a little assistance right now and we’re fortunate that many of us are in a position to find a way to give back.”

In addition, at Exmark’s annual Christmas party, the Exmark Employee Council collected food and monetary donations for the Community Food Pantry, an organization supporting families needing assistance with food, rent and utility payments. Exmark employees donated over $1,200 and four vehicle loads of food from its efforts.

The Community Food Pantry helps an average of 80 families a week and added 160 new families to its program this winter.
