New performers announced for GIE+EXPO 2013

 Simon PureTwo new opening acts have been announced for the free concert series at the 2013 Green Industry & Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) and Hardscape North America (HNA) Wednesday, Oct. 23, through Friday, Oct. 25, in Louisville, Ky. They will perform at the downtown entertainment complex, 4th Street Live, on the Nissan Commercial stage.

Natives of Burgin, Ky., Aly’An will take the stage on Wednesday, opening for country music star Craig Morgan. Childhood friends Alyson Burke and Andrea Warner began their music careers competing against each other in local singing competitions. Their mutual respect and amazing talent became the basis for a strong partnership and friendship. The duo has already shared stages with a few of country music’s hottest acts, including Thompson Square, Heidi Newfield, Bucky Covington, and Florida-Georgia Line. They have performed at fairs and festivals across the Southeast, and were recently invited by the Earnhardt family of NASCAR fame, to perform at one of their prestigious VIP events. The group was even selected as one of the only music acts to perform at the 2012 Vice-Presidential Debate in Danville, Ky.

Simon Pure 

Brother and sister duo Wesley May and Erica Martin combine to make up the country group Simon Pure. The siblings united earlier in 2013 to write and record the theme song for the DIY Network show “Logheads,” a reality show surrounding their family’s log furniture company, Rocky Top Log Furniture. While the group may be new, Martin is a staple in the country music circuit. As the lead vocalist for the group KickStart, she has toured the country for the past few years. The duo will open on Friday for country music star Holly Williams.
