Oregon grows 40V MAX Cordless Tool System line

Oregon, a world leader in forestry, lawn and garden products since 1947, announced on Oct. 1 the expansion of its 40V MAX Cordless Tool System. With more power and torque to handle yard demands and more premium battery options to meet run time needs, the new Oregon cordless pole saw, second-generation trimmer/edger and longer-running 4.0 Ah battery pack are ideal for homeowners who want the convenience of cordless technology without sacrificing performance. Using the powerful and lightweight Oregon PowerNow 40V MAX lithium-ion battery technology, these products are “always ready” with the power needed to get the job done.

“The recent additions to the Oregon Cordless Tool System eliminate the need for customers to sacrifice convenience or performance when deciding between battery- and gas-powered tools,” said Josh Huffman, senior product line marketing manager for Oregon. “The demand for battery-powered tools is growing as users look for alternatives to the hassles associated with gas-powered products. With high performance, instant start, low maintenance and zero emissions, Oregon has engineered tools that combat the traditional problems of gas-powered equipment.”

B600E 4.0 Ah battery pack* The PS250 pole saw provides the power and agility necessary for precise trimming. Its tool-free telescoping shaft extends quickly and easily from 7 feet-3 inches to 10 feet-4 inches and allows for up to 15 feet of reach. The PS250’s mid-mount motor design offers reduced elevated weight and improved balance and ergonomics, while its compact head enables trimming in tight spaces. The pole saw also features an integrated branch hook that facilitates branch removal for minimal on-the-job interruption. Weighing only 13.5 pounds with either the 2.4 Ah or 4.0 Ah battery pack, the PS250 is designed for more comfortable operation.

* Patented gear-drive technology gives the second-generation ST275 trimmer/edger 50-percent more torque for even more powerful cutting. Its dual-line cutting head and flip-down edge guide make it a true 2-in-1 trimming-and-edging tool. The trimmer utilizes Oregon’s quick-load trimmer head for fast, easy string loading and reliable bump-feed line advancement. A variable-speed trigger enables users to determine the cutting speed required, which maximizes run time. Oregon’s Platinum Gatorline comes standard, offering excellent cutting performance and additional resistance to cracking and breaking. The ST275 weighs only 9.4 pounds with the 2.4 Ah or 4.0 Ah battery pack, and its lightweight and balanced straight trimmer shaft with adjustable large grip handle offers supreme comfort.

* The B600E 4.0 Ah battery pack is the highest-capacity battery available for the Oregon Cordless Tool System. It features the same premium, high-capacity cells with no-fade power as Oregon’s other battery packs, but offers 3 times the run time of the B500S 1.25 Ah battery pack for maximum endurance. Like the 1.25 Ah and 2.4 Ah batteries, the 4.0 Ah battery pack is compatible with all Oregon Cordless Tool System products.

Exclusive to Oregon and featuring premium cell technology, the PowerNow battery platform is comprised of 40V MAX lithium-ion battery packs and battery chargers that power Oregon’s line of cordless tools. The 40V MAX platform provides the ultimate in power and performance. Lithium-ion technology provides a better user experience with features such as longer run times, constant no-fade power, no memory effect, and the ability for the battery packs to hold their charge in storage for months.

“Oregon’s new trimmer/edger, pole saw and battery pack make America’s newest cordless power family even more robust,” said Alan Lofurno, business unit director for Oregon. “These new units join a hedge trimmer and chain saw, rounding out a product line that is dedicated to supporting users’ yard or property challenges and demands day in and day out.”

Oregon offers a 3-year limited warranty for all registered Oregon cordless tools and chargers and a 2-year limited warranty for all registered Oregon cordless battery packs. The PS250, ST275 and B600E will be available for purchase in early 2014. For more information, visit www.OregonCordless.com.
