PLANET holds 16th annual Renewal and Rembrance

Despite the historic storm the week before in the D.C. area, on Monday, July 9, 2012, the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) held its 16th annual Renewal and Remembrance volunteer service project at Arlington National Cemetery. This is the largest service event of the year for green industry professionals.

Approximately 400 green industry professionals spent the day installing irrigation, aerating, planting, liming, and providing trees with cabling and lightning protection across more than 150 acres. Nearly 50 children participated as well; planting native grasses and laying the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.

The event was supported by dozens of green industry companies who donated funding, equipment and personnel. The event’s Platinum Sponsor is New Holland Construction.
