PLANET Offers Computer-based Certified Landscape Professional Testing at LaserGrade Centers Nationwide

The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) announced the addition of its Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) exams to the roster of tests that can now be taken at LaserGrade computer-base testing centers nationwide. Candidates for Certified Landscape Professional-Exterior (CLP-E) and Certified Landscape Professional-Interior (CLP-I) certification can now take advantage of the time and location of and opportunity to get immediate unofficial results from the computer-based testing currently available to candidates for the Certified Landscape Technician-Interior (CLT-I), Certified Turf Professional-Cool Season Lawns (CTP-CSL), and Certified Ornamental Landscape Professional (COLP) programs.

Through this partnership with LaserGrade, PLANET members have access to testing at hundreds of centers located throughout the U.S. and Canada, and at 30 international sites. According to International Certification Council (ICC) Chair Joel Hafner, CLP, CLT, of Fine Earth Landscape Co., Inc., “These centers will provide PLANET with further opportunities for expansion in certification programs, certified individuals, and industry recognition through critical mass.”

Joe Kujawa, CLP, of Kujawa Enterprises, Inc., in Oak Creek, Wis., can already testify to the convenience and savings of computer-based testing. In one week Kujawa sent six of its employees for testing. “It used to be very costly for us to send employees to get tested,” Kujawa said. “Not only did we save all of the travel costs, it was more convenient for our team members and the results came very quickly.”

To register for certification exams in testing centers, candidates must still submit their exam registration form, including their registration payment and the fee for the LaserGrade testing center, to the PLANET office for processing. PLANET, via e-mail, will send the candidate an Authorization Letter containing a unique Authorization Number. After they receive the authorization number, candidates can schedule their exam at a LaserGrade center close to them. Once the candidate completes the exam, LaserGrade transmits the results back to PLANET, and PLANET sends the official result to the candidate within 30 days.
