Stihl hosts high school students at Manufacturing Technology Summer Camp

Manufacturing Camp 2Stihl Inc. helps foster the future of manufacturing and gives students hands-on experience in technology during the Stihl Manufacturing Technology Summer Camp. This year’s camp is set to be held July 26-30 at the Stihl Inc. headquarters in Virginia Beach, Va. The camp promotes careers in modern manufacturing and a maximum of 40 high school students have the unique opportunity to design and build products from Stihl parts. This year, the students are building a light-seeking robot. Students are taught how to utilize technical skill-sets to find the most efficient way to build their products. On the final day, students compete to determine which team created the best manufacturing process. Each member of the winning team receives a scholarship of $1,000 from the Virginia Industry Foundation; scholarships are funded by Stihl Inc. and other camp supporters.
