Aquascape, Inc. announced the 10th anniversary of Pondemonium, a business and networking event for the water gardening industry. From July 16-19, distributors, contractors and retailers will come together for the event, designed to help grow their water garden businesses.
“This year’s Pondemonium theme centers on sustainability and working with Mother Nature,” said Ed Beaulieu, chief sustainability officer of Aquascape, Inc. “Longtime customers are familiar with our ecosystem pond philosophy and we’ve taken that initiative one step further by producing the RainXchange System that pairs rainwater harvesting with a decorative water feature.”
The week begins with a keynote address by Greg Wittstock, founder and CEO of Aquascape, and then attendees can choose to attend educational workshops or a hands-on advanced pond build training session. The second day repeats the schedule and starts with a sustainability presentation by Ed Beaulieu.
Saturday provides a new project for Pondemonium as attendees can participate in a neighborhood rehab project entitled Extreme Green Community Makeover. “Last year’s World’s Most Extreme Pond Build was a phenomenal success,” Wittstock claims. “We want to provide a similar, intense hands-on training session for our customers so we’re rehabbing the landscapes of a local neighborhood!” Water feature projects in the Extreme Green Community Makeover include fountainscapes installed with the AquasBasin, an ecosystem pond, a Pondless Waterfall, and the RainXchange System with a patio. Participants can relax in the evening at the annual Blow-Out Bash dinner when awards are distributed to key customers.
Sunday wraps up the event with professional pond tours and a first-time walking pond tour in St. Charles, the Water Garden Capital of the World.
In addition to hands-on training, workshops, keynote addresses and networking opportunities, Aquascape is hosting the International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society’s (IWGS) annual symposium. While Pondemonium celebrates its 10-year anniversary, the IWGS is celebrating its 25th symposium anniversary. Attendees to either event are encouraged and welcome to attend both organizations’ activities offered during the week.
