Bartlett Tree Experts announced that Erik Johnson, division manager and vice president, is overseeing the company’s operations in Southern California; managing three offices in California and two in Arizona.
Johnson first joined Bartlett in 2009. As local manager of Bartlett’s York and Lancaster, Pennsylvania locations, Johnson led these offices to receive their first ever Company award for excellence in safe work practices.
In 2018, Johnson was named assistant division manager for the Connecticut region. In 2020, Johnson was promoted to division manager and vice president by Jim Ingram, president and chief operating officer, to manage the company’s operations in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Under Johnson’s leadership, his regional team successfully expanded its client base and improved sales, even through the challenges of the pandemic.
The strategic decision was made last year to divide the management of Bartlett’s 11 operations in California and Arizona to support opportunities for growth. Because of Johnson’s expertise in fast-tracking organic growth, Johnson was selected by Ingram to oversee Southern California and Arizona operations. Johnson’s talent for leading inspirational change has yielded great results for Bartlett and our clients.
Since taking on his new role, Bartlett has expanded in Santa Barbara County with the acquisition of Bowman Tree Surgery. With this acquisition, more property owners in Southern California are benefiting from Bartlett’s species-specific scientific tree care services, along with the diagnostic support of the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories.
Ingram said, “Now, more than ever, it is critical to have leaders like Erik, who are dependable and capable of adapting to change to benefit our clients’ properties. Erik is a proven leader who thinks creatively in supporting safety, growing our business, and inspiring our people.”
