Belgard Color of the Year

Belgard reveals 2022 Color of the Year

Belgard announced its 2022 Color of the Year – Jetset. This true blue color feels like a long-awaited exhale, representing optimism and hope in the new year.

Jetset is an energizing hue, full of the promise of a glorious new day. It brings a vibrant and bright feeling to outdoor living spaces and complements Belgard’s paver palettes perfectly, balancing with both warm and cool tones and enhancing the increasingly popular trends of linear design and geometric patterns.

“We wanted this year’s color of the year to reflect in outdoor design a sense of hope and vitality,” said Joe Raboine, director of residential hardscapes at Belgard. “Rather than being more muted and subtle, we wanted our 2022 Color of the Year to represent the excitement of a new year and the readiness to do more, be more and live more. Jetset is a much-needed dose of liveliness and joy.”

Jetset is the perfect pop of color to enhance any color palette and aligns with several emerging 2022 design trends, such as:

Monochromatic Colors With Accents – Lighter tone-on-tone colors have been standard with pavers for some time, but the use of accents and accessories to create a brighter, or contrasting, space is becoming more popular. Like interior design trends, the use of cool tones with choice accent colors is bleeding into outdoor living design. Jetset accessories can be used to add a bright, eye-catching accent to any outdoor space.

Entangled, biophilic design: As people blend their outdoor spaces to serve as extensions of their homes, many are focusing on entangled design and combining the surrounding landscape with irregular edges, boulders or grass. Jetset is the perfect tone  to accentuate the depth of greens, grays and other earth tones associated with entangled, biophilic design.

Jetset also pairs well with Belgard’s previous Color of the Year choices. For a more subdued look, Jetset can be used as an accent with the 2020 Color of the Year, Terrarium or sprinkled with pops of 2021’s Marigold for an invigorated feel.
