Cal Poly Pomona the site of 33rd annual PLANET Student Career Days

The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) encourages green industry students and companies to register now to go West for its 33rd annual Student Career Days (SCD) event, March 26–29, 2009. Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, Calif., will be the site of this annual three-day competitive event for students enrolled in horticulture programs at colleges and universities across the country. Students not only have the chance to compete in events that are directly related to the skills necessary for a career in the green industry, but they also can take advantage of the Career Fair, where they can meet prospective employers in the industry and discuss employment opportunities.

In addition to the competitive events and Career Fair, there will be a number of career development sessions, and an Industry Workshop, featuring a panel discussion on recruiting efforts and creating successful internship programs. The panel will be composed of industry representatives, students, and educators. Audience participation is encouraged, so come prepared to share your knowledge, successes, and experiences with the group. Rounding out this event will be a docent-led tour of the grounds of the Huntington Library, with time to explore the Library and the Art Collection.
