J. Carl Ganter, co-founder and director of Circle of Blue, the internationally recognized website which reports on global freshwater issues, will keynote the opening session for the 5th Annual WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition on October 3.

An award-winning photojournalist, reporter and broadcaster, Ganter is credited with helping shape the multimedia journalism era. He co-founded Circle of Blue in 2000 to provide information about the world’s resource crises, with a focus on the nexus of water, food and energy.

Ganter serves on the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Water Security and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Navigating Peace Water Working Group. He earned his Master of Science in Journalism at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism after graduating with honors from the University’s American Studies Program.
