Connect with the industry at Irrigation Show 2008, Oct. 30 through Nov. 4

Irrigation Show 2008 is a great opportunity to connect with the staff of Landscape and Irrigation, and with irrigation industry leaders, Oct. 30 through Nov. 4, at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, Calif. The trade show portion of Irrigation Show 2008 will be held Nov. 2-4.

Show highlights include a general session and keynote by Peter H. Gleick, Pacific Institute on Monday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. until Noon. Gleick will discuss the need for new approaches to meet requirements for safe drinking water, adequate sanitation, agriculture and environmental protection. This “soft path” must complement physical infrastructure with improved water-use efficiency, sustainable water use and economic incentives. Dr. Gleick is co-founder and president of the Pacific Institute for Studies in Development, Environment & Security (Oakland, Calif.). He is a recognized expert on the critical connections between water and human health, the hydrologic impacts of climate change and international conflicts over water resources.

Also, join IA President Doug York and President-elect Stephen Smith for a state-of-the-association report and awards presentation. Be part of the excitement as IA unveils a new logo and tagline and kicks off a major campaign to strengthen the association’s brand identity.

On Monday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., take part in the Contractor Reception. Expand your network in a relaxed, casual environment while gathering ideas about how to make your business even better. The Contactor Reception provides opportunities to learn what’s working for peers from around the country and the world, plus discuss what lies ahead. Share ideas, make new friends and add real value to your show experience (exclusively for contractor attendees and reception sponsors.)

Landscape and Irrigation Editor John Kmitta will be on hand to report on the major issues impacting the industry. Stop by booth #795 to meet with John, West Coast Advertising Sales Rep Bruce Loria, and Classified Sales Rep Glenne Belton.
