Golf Ventures Inc is Jacobsen’s Dealer of the Year

Golf Ventures Inc. of Lakeland, FL was crowned Jacobsen North American Dealer of the Year for 2010 at an awards ceremony held at the Doubletree Resort Hotel in Orlando, FL on the eve of the GIS Show in February.


Golf Ventures Inc. won the Charlotte-based turf equipment manufacturer’s most prestigious accolade, following a very successful year in a challenged marketplace. They significantly increased their whole goods sales, boosted their quote rates and their penetration into courses across their territory rose to a new level. Other contributing factors were an increase in territory coverage and service parts revenue. They also embraced a new CRM system, which helped identify opportunities for growth across all areas of their business.


Presenting the award to Walt McMahon and Debbie Nipper, Jacobsen’s regional sales manager Chuck Greif said,


“Embracing our new CRM system throughout 2010 has resulted in Gulf Ventures having a very successful year in a market that is still coming to terms with a downturn. They certainly stepped up to the plate to ensure excellence in all areas of their business and by working the new technology they were able to target new business in a measured and assured manner. I’m really delighted with their success and congratulate them on an outstanding achievement.


The O.J. Company Ltd of Sherrington, Quebec in Canada won the Dealer Service award for their exemplary Customer Loyalty Index ranking and their attention to detail through every part of the after-sales process as measured by an intensive Jacobsen audit. They were also acknowledged for 30 years as a Jacobsen dealer, along with G.L. Cornell Co. of Gaithersburg, MD who celebrated 75 years as Jacobsen dealer in 2011 and Mikuni Corporation of Kawagoe, Japan, who have been Jacobsen’s distributor in that country for 45 years.


The ceremony concluded with recognition of outstanding Dealer Sales people with individual Pace Setter awards presented to Steven Terrell of Tri-State Pumps and Controls, Travis Hitt of RMT Equipment and George Corgan of Steven Willand Inc.
