Hardscape North America features continuing education program about sustainable hardscapes

For the first time, landscape architects, architects and engineers are being encouraged to attend Hardscape North America with the addition of a 5 hour continuing education program focusing on Sustainable Hardscapes. “As HNA has established itself as the education event for hardscape contractors, we are now expanding our program to include the important needs of the design community” said Chuck Beckman, HNA’s Program Chairman. “Now, in our third year, we think that HNA is a “must” experience for the design community particularly by offering education on green roof assemblies, permeable pavements and other green topics. With live installation demonstrations, product expo and a solid education program during Hardscape North America (HNA)—January 14-17, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia— any designer involved with hardscapes should attend the show.”

The education program consists of 4 sessions: Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavements, Clay Brick Revisited: How green is it? LEED Points Using SRW & Concrete Products, and Building Green: Vegetated Roof & Deck Assemblies.  The 2-hour permeable pavement program includes a demonstration & free copy of the new Permeable Design Pro, a comprehensive software program for engineers and designers. The other sessions of the program are 1-hour in length bringing the total education time to 5 hours with AIA & ASLA accreditation being offered. Lunch and tradeshow pass are included in the fee and time is allocated to those activities. The program will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 7:30am to 3:30pm.The 5 hour program fee is $175 but registration before December 22, 2008 will lower the cost to $135.
