Husqvarna names new president of North and Latin America

Husqvarna appointed Michael Jones as president of sales and service in North and Latin America. Jones will report to president and CEO Magnus Yngen, and he will serve as a member of group management.

Jones is currently general manager, cooking products, within the appliances division of General Electric in the United States. He has a B.A. in Business Administration and has held various leadership positions within General Electric in sales, service, product management and international business since 1994. He will assume his new position as of Oct. 1, 2009, and be based at the group’s U.S. headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.

Roger Leon, who was acting head of sales and service in North and Latin America following the departure of President Dave Zerfoss, has been appointed head of global purchasing.

In June 2009, Husqvarna announced a new organization, which will be fully implemented as of Jan. 1, 2010. Instead of six business sectors, the new organization consists of five operative units: Supply Chain, Products & Marketing, Sales and Service in Europe and Asia/Pacific; Sales and Service in North and Latin America; and Construction Products.
