The Irrigation Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Irrigation Association, strives for a future where the irrigation industry is thriving with an ample supply of educated, highly skilled professionals who employ technology and best practices to provide efficient irrigation solutions that protect water resources and the environment.
To attract the next generation of irrigation professionals and encourage them to pursue careers in irrigation, the Irrigation Foundation specializes in programs for students and faculty.
The Foundation’s programs and initiatives include:
An online job board dedicated to irrigation jobs and careers. This portal allows employers an opportunity to post open positions and allows job seekers the opportunity to post resumes and search for open positions.
Each year, the Excellence in Education Award recognizes an outstanding irrigation, water conservation or management instructor at a two- or four-year institution. The award honors educators who play critical roles in helping the development of professionals with skills to create efficient irrigation solutions.
Founded in 2012, the E3 program provides students and faculty with exposure, experience and education in the irrigation industry. Academics nominate outstanding students for consideration as E3 Learners and/or apply to become E3 Leaders themselves.
The Irrigation Faculty Academy is the Foundation’s longest standing event. Each year, educators from universities, colleges, community colleges and high schools gather to learn specific teaching tools and concepts relevant to irrigation. In 2015, the Foundation held two academies for the first time, one targeting landscape and one for agriculture.
