The AOLP & IA Landscape Lighting Conference is quickly approaching (Aug. 23 from Noon-4 p.m. EST). This virtual conference has gathered some of today’s most knowledgeable, experienced and creative lighting experts to discuss the latest trends and best practices in the landscape lighting industry. Chris Apfelstadt
President, Light Up Columbus
Chris Apfelstadt started his first business (residential painting) as an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University, and added holiday lighting services to increase business during the cold months. After holiday’s seasonal revenue outgrew the annual painting revenue, Apfelstadt sold his painting company and added event, architectural and landscape lighting. Light Up Columbus does residential lighting projects and focuses on larger commercial projects for municipal clients.
Matthew Broyles, CLVLT, COLD
President, Firefly Lighting LLC
Matthew Broyles has been in the landscape and Christmas lighting business in Atlanta for 21 years. He was an AOLP Board member from 2005 to 2019 and served as the AOLP president for many of those years. He is one of the founding members of the Certified Outdoor Lighting Design programs and continues to serve as vice chair of the Conference Planning Committee.
Jared Everline
Director of Intelligent Products, S4 Lights
As the director of intelligent products at S4 Lights, Jared Everline has a unique opportunity to work closely with customers of all shapes and sizes while designing and developing product concepts into marketable solutions. Luke Jensen
Owner, Lewes Lighting LLC & WeHangChristmasLights.com of Long Island
Luke Jensen is the owner of WeHangChristmasLights.com of Long Island, N.Y., and Lewes Lighting LLC. He and his wife started their Christmas lighting business in 2015. He went full time into lighting in 2018 and added landscape lighting in 2019. In addition to his lighting businesses, he is a certified trainer for the Christmas Lights Installation Pros Association and has helped personally train over 500 new installers across the country since 2018.
Vince Nolletti
Consultant, Paige Electric Company LP
Vince Nolletti earned his degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the City University of New York in 1971. He has worked in the irrigation and lighting fields since graduating from college and has held various domestic and international positions from 1971 to 1995, including design engineer, technical service management, sales and marketing, product management, and president and CEO of a sprinkler manufacturer. From 1995 to 2018, Noletti was a partner at Paige Electric as executive vice president and chairman of the board. He is currently retired but continues to consult for Paige Electric.
Michael Shulman
Principal Engineer – Lighting, UL LLC
Michael Shulman is a principal engineer at UL with over 40 years of product safety investigation experience. He has direct oversight of UL standards, technical decisions and certification programs for portable, low voltage, landscape, emergency, swimming pool and photovoltaic-powered lighting applications. He represents UL on the NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) technical committee for means of egress and is a frequent contributor to the National Electrical Code revision process.
