Milwaukee Tool Pipeline event showcases latest battery-powered OPE

Milwaukee Tool hosted members of the media and industry influencers August 10 for its Pipeline event near Milwaukee, Wis. Attendees toured Milwaukee’s Brookfield, Wis., headquarters, followed by demonstrations of Milwaukee’s latest battery-powered outdoor power equipment at Milwaukee’s new manufacturing facility in West Bend, Wis. – including opportunities to get hands-on with the equipment.

Following the outdoor demonstrations, attendees were treated to a tour of the new West Bend facility, which began operation August 10. The state-of-the-art facility is where Milwaukee manufacturers its newest professional handheld tools.

During the Pipeline event, Milwaukee highlighted its line of battery-powered outdoor power equipment for landscape professionals.

“We are no longer just trying to be best in class when it comes to battery. We are looking to rival and outperform the performance of gas competitors in this space,” said Tony Buxton, group product managers, new product development at Milwaukee.

Equipment showcased at the event included the following:

M18 Fuel 21″ self-propelled dual battery mower

The M18 Fuel 21″ self-propelled dual battery mower delivers best-in-class cut quality and more max torque than 200cc gas mowers. The optimized steel deck design paired with higher blade speed allows the mower to achieve superior airflow and increased lift to deliver the best cut quality in mulching, bagging, and side discharge applications. The advanced electronics package delivers an instant throttle response on both blade and drive motors. When paired with two fully charged M18 Redlithium high output HD12.0 batteries, users can expect up to 60 minutes of runtime, allowing up to 1/2 acre of cutting when removing 1″ of grass at a 3-mph self-propelled pace.

“When it comes to a mower, airflow is critical to delivering a great cut quality,” said Buxton. “So, we really built up our competencies when it came to fluid dynamics, to optimize the airflow within a deck. If you take a look underneath our deck, it is a very smooth and open design. It allows the air to move in a smooth and circular direction without disrupting that any of that airflow.

Buxton said that the M18 Fuel 21″ self-propelled dual battery mower provides superior airflow and lift to stand up blades of grass, cut them evenly and keep them suspended to be cut multiple times before returning back to the surface.

According to Buxton, in a standard grass-cutting application – removing 1 inch of grass using self-propelled at 3 miles per hour in any mulching setting – the M18 Fuel 21″ self-propelled dual battery mower delivers up to 60 minutes of runtime, and is able to cover up to a 1/2 acre of grass cutting.

“All of the investments we have made on the development of this product have really paved the way for future products within this space and in adjacent categories,” Buxton added. “So, we are able to go faster in the future as we get into other areas.”

M12 Fuel 8″ hedge trimmer

The M12 Fuel 8″ hedge trimmer features a compact design that delivers a lighter weight, one-handed use to make it easier to control in tight access applications. In demanding applications, the trimmer has the power to cut 1/2″ branches while also being the fastest cutting in its class for increased application speed and overall productivity. As an added benefit, the blade tip guard prevents damage to the property and the blades.

M18 Fuel Quik-Lok brush cutter attachment

The M18 Fuel Quik-Lok brush cutter attachment features a 9″ blade with a 4-tooth design to tackle more demanding applications. The Brush Cutter Attachment has an optimized guard design to provide enhanced material deflection for user safety, while the protected drive shaft increases durability against drops and the elements while being stored.

M18 Fuel Quik-Lok rubber broom attachment

The M18 Fuel Quik-Lok rubber broom attachment is designed with an optimized 23″ rubber paddle for clearing rocks and other debris off grass and hard surfaces, including large puddles of standing water and snow up to 3″ deep, without the risk of surface damage. The guard design provides best-in-class material containment to prevent the unwanted spread of debris while the reinforced paddles offer ultimate durability.

M18 Fuel Quik-Lok bristle brush attachment

The M18 Fuel Quik-Lok bristle brush attachment features a 23″ clearing capacity and optimized bristle design to deliver increased efficiency when clearing unwanted material off hard surfaces, such as pavement, blacktop, and sidewalks. The Bristle Brush Attachment is designed with an optimized guard for the best material containment, while the protected drive shafts deliver increased durability against drops and the elements while being stored.

M18 Fuel dual battery blower

The M18 Fuel dual battery blower delivers the highest constant power on the market, reaching full throttle in less than one second, while providing the best clearing control. The dual battery blower delivers the highest constant power by offering a higher power output than gas and maintaining that performance throughout the charge of the battery. The Powerstate brushless motor delivers 600 cfm and 145 mph, providing the ability to tackle demanding applications. Designed with an ambidextrous variable-speed sliding lock on lever, users can easily lock in the blower to the desired clearing power, with either hand. Additionally, the blower includes both a tapered and a flat nozzle attachment, so users can optimize the airflow for different applications.

“Having consistent power is critical for professional users, because whether it is the first property of the day or fifth property of the day, you need that same power output as the application doesn’t change,” said Katy Stringfield, product manager. “We are able to deliver a consistent 600 cfm and 145 mph.”

Stringfield added that power is maintained throughout the entire charge of the battery, and the noise level of the dual battery blower is only 64 dB, which meets the current and emerging regulations around blower noise requirements.

M18 Fuel Hatchet 8″ pruning saw (Launching October 2022)

The M18 Fuel Hatchet 8″ pruning saw delivers increased control and access, has the power to cut hardwoods, and is the fastest cutting pruning saw on the market. Weighing less than 5 pounds without a battery, the compact design provides increased control and maneuverability. The advanced electronics package enables the saw to maintain speed under heavy loads without bogging down to complete demanding cuts faster than 25cc gas. Additionally, the saw reaches full throttle in less than one second, and is paired with a variable-speed trigger to deliver ultimate control over the power range. This pruning saw features a lanyard loop, full house chain, easy access chain tensioner, automatic oiler, metal bucking spikes, onboard scrench storage, and a climbing scabbard.

M12 one- and two-gallon handheld sprayers (Launching November 2022)

Milwaukee Tool sprayers

The M12 handheld sprayer delivers the best pressure control and no manual pumping, providing users with instant, constant and adjustable pressure up to 80 PSI and a 17-foot vertical spray distance. The 3-mode pressure adjustment knob adjusts the pressure between 20 – 80 psi to tackle a wide range of applications.
