NALP asks for help encouraging DHS to release all additional visas
The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) is asking industry professionals to help encourage the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Labor (DOL) to release all additional visas.
Call your representative and senators and ask them to continue to reach out to DHS and DOL and demand that the departments immediately resume H-2B processing up to the full number of visas authorized by the FY18 Omnibus Appropriations law. You can reach your elected officials by using NALP’s H-2B Action Hotline 1 (833) SAV-EH2B (833-728-3422). You will be prompted to enter your zip code and then you will be automatically connected to your senators and representative.
Tweet at Homeland Security Secretary Nielsen and Labor Secretary Acosta about the need for immediate cap relief using #SaveH2B. Their twitter handles are: @SecretaryAcosta, @USDOL, @SecNielsen, and @DHSgov
Tweet your Senators and Representative. You can find their twitter handles here. 100% of the members of Congress now have Twitter handles and social media is quickly becoming one of the most effective ways to advocate.
NALP has H-2B specific infographics that we recommend you include in your tweets. We also encourage you to use the #SaveH2B so that your tweets are indexed and easily found.
Submit a video
Record a short one-minute video that includes the name and location of your business and the consequences to your business and your domestic workforce if you do not receive H-2B workers soon. This can be a simple statement recorded on a cell phone while sitting in your office or out in the field, or you could ask your U.S. workers to record a short video. Send them to Laurie Flanagan via email and she will post the videos on the H-2B Workforce Coalition Facebook page. You can also tweet your video at DHS, DOL and your elected officials using @SaveH2B and #SaveH2B.
