Landscape professionals have another option for converting commercial mowers to clean, American-made propane with new Environmental Protection Agency-certified propane mower conversion kits by Hendrix Progressive Fuel Technologies. The EPA certification also qualifies the kit for a $500 incentive through the Propane Education & Research Council’s (PERC) Propane Mower Incentive Program.
“We’re excited to be able to provide another EPA-certified conversion kit option to landscapers who want to experience the cost-saving and environmental benefits of propane,” said Todd Hendrix, owner of Hendrix Progressive Fuel Technologies. “We’re looking forward to seeing propane continue to gain prevalence in the lawn and landscape industry, and we’re thrilled to be a part of that growth.”
The Hendrix kit can convert mower models featuring any of 9 Kawasaki engines in 3 block sizes, including the Kawasaki 852-cc FX 751V, FX 801V, and FX 850V; the Kawasaki 726-cc FX 730V, FX 691V, and FX 651V; and the Kawasaki 603-cc FS 481V, FS 541V, and FS 600V. The kits are designed to provide optimal fuel efficiency and performance for geographic elevations ranging from sea level to 2,500 feet and from 2,500 to 5,000 feet above sea level.
Each kit comes fully assembled and includes a detailed installation manual explaining how to adjust the engine idle and fuel mixture to EPA-performance specifications. Hendrix Progressive Fuel Technologies offers on-site training, as well as phone support, for the conversion kits.
Jeremy Wishart, senior programs manager for PERC, said, “We’re pleased to be able to partner with Hendrix by qualifying the EPA-certified kits for our Propane Mower Incentive Program. The kits give landscape professionals another excellent option for converting their equipment, and taking advantage of the incentive program can help them maximize savings even more.”
PERC’s Propane Mower Incentive Program offers landscape professionals $500 toward each qualified propane mower conversion or $1,000 toward each purchase of a new propane-powered OEM mower. Many states also offer incentives for converting off-road equipment to propane.
