The National Association of Landscape Professionals will host the inaugural event of the new Young Professionals networking community at LANDSCAPES 2016, in Louisville, Kentucky, October, 19-21.
The idea for the Young Professionals group came from Brett Lemcke, NALP President and Vice President of R.M. Landscape in Hilton, NY and NALP member, Kelly Dowell, Business Developer, Dowco Enterprises Inc. in Chesterfield, Missouri.
“I know, from personal experience, that the association has a great connection to college students through our student chapters and through our National Collegiate Landscape Competition.” said Lemcke “We wanted to find a way to continue the relationship with them as they begin to think about their careers and we wanted to help them connect with others and feel supported.”
“We recognized that the industry is missing a place for young up-and-comers to talk, share experiences and network,” said Dowell, “and we wanted to create that.”
NALP will host a free networking reception for young professionals (under 40) during LANDSCAPES, on Oct. 19, from 9:00pm – 11:00pm in the Louisville Downtown Marriott. People interested in attending should R.S.V.P to NALP Membership Manager, Andrea Berberick, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-456-4211.
Young professionals in the industry are also encouraged to join the new networking community on Facebook.
LANDSCAPES 2016 is sponsored by JOHN DEERE at the Platinum level, Caterpillar as Gold Sponsor, and Bayer as Silver Sponsor.
