NJLCA names new VP and director of operations

The New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association (NJLCA) announced the selection of Bob Pedatella, Landscape Industry Certified Technician, as vice president of the association for 2010/2011 and the promotion of Gail Woolcott to the position of director of operations.

Bob Pedatella is President of Kodiak Landscape & Design of Haskell, NJ since 1994, which offers landscape design, maintenance, paver design and installation, and snow removal services in Bergen, Morris, and Passaic counties.  He was sworn into office at NJLCA headquarters on July 19, 2010.  “It is both an honor and a privilege to be serving as vice president of NJLCA, which represents more than 500 professionals who create and maintain green spaces that enhance our environment,” said Pedatella. He is a past Director and Sergeant at Arms of the NJLCA, serving from 1999 through 2001 and has been actively involved in NJLCA for more than 15 years.  Bob attended the County College of Morris, where he obtained his associates degree in Business and Landscape Management and Design.  He has received numerous awards including the PLANET Stars Safety award, NJLCA Contractor of the Year, the NJLCA Landscape Achievement Awards, and more.  Bob is a big proponent of community service and for the past 10 years has planted trees at three different schools each Arbor Day.  He is also a member of the NCMA and SIMA, and is ICPI certified.  Bob serves as the co-chair of the NJLCA’s certification committee and has acted as an Observer for PLANET’s Landscape Industry Certified Technician Exam.

Gail Woolcott was hired by the NJLCA in 2006 as a part-time bookkeeper.  Since that time, she became the NJLCA’s Office Administrator and began to take on the management of many association events.  She works with all of the NJLCA committees to facilitate events, legislative issues, the Achievement Awards, administers the certification exam, and more.  In June 2010, the Combined Board of Directors promoted Gail to the position of Director of Operations, allowing her to take the key role in association operations.  Gail will continue to assist the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and committees with carrying out the mission of the NJLCA.  Says Gail of her new position, “I’m excited for the opportunity to interact with more industry leaders in an effort to help the membership achieve excellence.  If I can help our membership in running a more efficient, prosperous, and altogether happier business, I have done my job.”
