P. Allen Smith to Present Educational Session at 2008 Green Industry Conference

The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) announced that national celebrity garden designer, P. Allen Smith of P. Allen Smith Gardens and P. Allen Smith’s Garden Home, will lead an educational session entitled “How Creative Thinking and Design Will Maximize Your Profits” at this year’s Green Industry Conference (GIC) on October 23, courtesy of Stihl Inc. The conference, which returns to Louisville, Kentucky, October 22–25, 2008, offers a wealth of learning opportunities for green industry professionals, ranging from finance/business, leadership, and human resources to landscape management, safety, and industry recruiting.

“We’re pleased to provide the expertise of celebrity gardener and TV host P. Allen Smith to the conference,” said Roger Phelps, promotional communications manager at Stihl Inc. “Allen is in a unique position to communicate with homeowners, determine their needs and desires, see the latest trends, and share this insightful information with landscape contractors to help them tailor their service offerings to maximize profitability.”

GIC attendees also enjoy valuable networking opportunities at events such as Breakfast With Champions and evening gatherings, as well as have access to the green industry’s foremost product exhibition, the GIE+EXPO, where the newest green industry products and innovations are showcased. There’s also a live auction, proceeds from which go to the PLANET Academic Excellence Foundation (AEF), created to help fund the education of the industry’s future leaders and PLANET’s legislative initiatives.
