PGMS announces 2018-2019 board

Jeff McManus, CGM of the University of Mississippi in University, Miss. was elected and installed as the new president of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) during the Society’s Annual Awards Dinner held on Oct. 18 in conjunction with the 2018 School of Grounds Management Annual Conference & GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Ky.

The 97th grounds management professional to hold the office, McManus succeeds Gerald Landby as the chief elected officer of the more-than-100-year-old green industry organization.

In addition to McManus, PGMS members elected Gerald (Gerry) Dobbs, CGM of Rancho Cordova Recreation and Parks District in Rancho Cordova, Calif., as its president elect. Mark Feist of American University in Washington, D.C., as vice president; and Joe Kovolyan, CGM, CSFM of University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., as treasurer.

The regional directors are as follows: North East Regional Director, Don Savard, CGM, CSFM of the Salesianum School, Inc. in Wilmington, Del.; North Central Regional Director, Bruce De Vrou, CGM of Spectrum Health Hospitals in Grand Rapids, Mich.; Northwest Regional Director, Mike Beaulieu of Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Ore.; South East Regional Director, Brandon Haley, CGM of Moody, Ala.; South Central Regional Director, Philip Dierker, CGM of Rice University in Houston, Texas; and Southwest Regional Director, Kent Bagnell of The Venetian Casino & Resort, Las Vegas.

Directors-at-Large include: Jenny Gulick of Urban Canopy Works, LLC in Union, Ky.; Roger Connor, CGM of Duke University in Durham, N.C.; and Jared Rudy, CGM of Villanova University in Villanova, Pa.

Paula Sliefert of The Toro Company in Bloomington, Minn., and Lynda Wightman of Hunter Industries in Missoula, Mont., will serve as the supplier member representatives.
