The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) is heading to "The City of Brotherly Love" for its Summer Regional Seminar and Site Visit Aug. 5-7, 2013.

PGMS Summer Seminar and Site Visit taking place in Philadelphia

The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) is heading to “The City of Brotherly Love” for its Summer Regional Seminar and Site Visit Aug. 5-7, 2013.


Grounds professionals from around the country will meet in Philadelphia for this exclusive opportunity to tour one of the most notorious baseball stadiums in the country, Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. This tour will include a brief audio/visual presentation and then a walk around the ballpark including a visit to a luxury suite, Ashburn Alley, the Diamond Club, Cooperstown Gallery and the Hall of Fame Club.


Also part of the event, attendees will explore the pristine grounds of Villanova University and the breathtaking Chanticleer Garden.


In addition, educational seminars will provide a multidimensional learning opportunity and networking opportunities will allow attendees to learn from their fellow professionals in the industry. Among the education programs to be offered during this three day event are: “Rainwater as a Resource –Green Infrastructure Practices and Case Studies,” “Injury Prevention – What You Can Do to Influence a Safe Work Environment,” and “The Good, Bad & Ugly of Synthetic Turf Maintenance.”


An optional post conference visit to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa. will be offered on Wednesday, Aug. 7. For a minimal additional fee, attendees can take a self-guided tour around the grounds, rich in heritage and beauty.
