Phoenix Environmental Care has named Sherry Hutcheson as director of regulatory affairs. Hutcheson brings more than 15 years of product registration and regulatory experience to the Phoenix Environmental Care team.

In her position, Hutcheson will handle Phoenix Environmental Care’s product registrations with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the state EPA authorities. She will also develop regulatory strategies and provide guidance for Phoenix Environmental Care, and assure that the company is in compliance with regulatory standards as set forth by the EPA. Hutcheson will act as the primary company liaison with the EPA.

“Sherry has a strong background in regulatory guidelines and standards and she brings a great deal of product registration and chemistry experience to the Phoenix Environmental Care team,” said Owen Towne, president, Phoenix Environmental Care. “With her incredible knowledge of EPA guidelines and regulatory strategies, Sherry is an ideal choice to help us expand and continue our growth.”

Prior to joining Phoenix Environmental Care, Hutcheson spent more than five years working for an international regulatory consulting firm handling domestic and international product registrations. Before that, she spent nine years as an analytical chemist where she was responsible for product chemistry data development in support of EPA registrations, analytical method development as well as quality control support for the company’s manufacturing groups. She has also worked in environmental services management as a laboratory manager.

Hutcheson earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. She currently resides in Valdosta. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her son kicking around a soccer ball.
