Rain Bird Services Corporation announced a new training program that focuses specifically on Rain Bird commercial and golf course central control system installation, operation and maintenance. The Rain Bird Factory Trained Program is designed to help contractors build their skills and open up new opportunities.

“Contractors who participate in our Factory Trained Program receive high-level and in-depth training on central control system features and installation best practices,” said Robert Pfeil, services marketing group manager for Rain Bird Services Corporation. “They also receive a valuable designation that they can use to market their expertise. In return, designers and end users can rest assured that when they hire a graduate of our Factory Trained Program, the job will be done right.”

The courses in the Factory Trained Program feature practical, hands-on training exercises to reinforce information learned in the classroom.  After completing a course, students take an exam to test key knowledge areas.  Designations are awarded to individuals who pass the exam. The Factory Trained Program offers professionals a chance to earn Installer, Operator and Technician designations across the complete line of Rain Bird Central Control products for commercial and golf applications.

“Designers and commercial property owners look for professional contractors who can keep projects on schedule, properly install systems and keep systems running efficiently,” said Pfeil. “We designed this training program to give contractors the necessary tools and knowledge they need to do all these tasks with confidence.”

The Factory Trained Central Control Installer course teaches students how to install the appropriate hardware components and select the right communications configuration for the site.  The Factory Trained Operator courses instruct professional contractors, superintendents or water managers on the powerful features of Rain Bird Central Control products and how those features can help them efficiently manage system and water resources.  The Factory Trained Technician courses hone the skills of maintenance professionals who are in charge of maintaining a Rain Bird Central Control system, enabling them to diagnose system problems quickly and easily.

“We designed the Factory Trained courses to work together – allowing professionals to earn multiple designations, and ultimately to develop the skills and expertise to offer their customers a complete central control services package,” Pfeil explained.  “This program allows professional contractors to get the expert knowledge they need to successfully expand their service offering and grow their businesses.”

The Factory Trained Program will be launching residential and additional golf product courses and designations in 2013.
