The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) will hold its 12th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Louisville, Ky., June 24-27, 2009. The four-day event will feature a trade show, speakers, educational sessions, and networking events for professionals in the snow and ice industry.
“After achieving record attendance at the 11th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Buffalo, N.Y., SIMA is working hard to provide another great show,” said Jennifer Hallett, SIMA director of education and certification. “We are looking forward to presenting some new programs and ideas in Louisville.” New for the 2009 Symposium will be a half-day equipment demonstration at Manning Equipment in Louisville, where attendees can take a hands-on approach to snow and ice equipment and discuss best practices in equipment safety, maintenance, preparation, troubleshooting, and more.
The Symposium will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville, and will also feature:
A 2 day trade show featuring the latest equipment and services from over 80 exhibitors.
2 Keynote sessions, including “Legendary Service at the Ritz Carlton” with Jeff Hargett and “Snow Removal in Russia – Learn from your Counterparts Overseas” with Mikhail Baranov of Agrimex, LLC in Moscow.
Over 20 educational sessions with topics covering sales and marketing, operations, management and leadership, and administration.
A new anti-icing and deicing track with 4 sessions focusing on salt supply management, environmental concerns, and chemical alternatives.
“Snack & Chat” roundtable discussions on various snow and ice topics where attendees can network and share tips of the trade.
A Certified Snow Professional (CSP) exam.
An awards banquet honoring the best in snow and ice management.
